Cindy returns to Bonnie Branch bringing Kevin along for the ride
Last year I had Cindy Alexander booked for a show with Paul Trudeau. Unfortunately it was cancelled because of a medical emergency with Cindy's husband. (He's doing great!) She tried to rebook for October, but that didn't work for me. So, a year later, I have Cindy back on the calendar! This year she's bringing Kevin Fisher with her. They've been collaborating lately on a side project called The Humming Bards, so he was the perfect choice for this tour.
So what about these Humming Bards? You could say Cindy is a little bit rock and roll and Kevin is a little bit country. Or maybe she is a little bit Edna St. Vincent Millay and he is a little bit Robert Frost. Or you could just listen to the music they make together. They've been friends since the 90s, orbited the same circles, and as it turns out, see through a similar creative lens. Their first co-write yielded the tune Christmas in the Ordinary. It came fast and easily, so they decided to keep going! On a whim, they created The Humming Bards. Their first collaboration was a completely fan funded holiday EP called Holy Common Ground, a collection of songs for everyone - "whatever you believe, whatever road you're on."
Cindy Alexander is the winner of David Foster's NBC Star Tomorrow, L.A. Music Awards Songwriter of the Year/Independent Pop Album of the Year, All Access Magazine's Best Female Pop Vocalist, Just Plain Folks Song of the Year/Female Artist of the Year, L.A. Music Critic's Best Female CD, Best Pop Artist, and more. She has shared the stage with John Hiatt, Bacon Brothers, America, Suzanne Vega, Joan Osborn, Rick Springfield, Beth Hart, Everclear, The Bangles, Edwin McCain, Marc Cohn, etc. and has appeared on compilation cd's along side Sarah McLachlan (Chilled Sirens, Water Music Records), Aimee Mann (Eclectic Cafe, Water Music Records) and Norah Jones (Sunday Brunch, Treadstone Records). As a solo artist, Cindy is signed to Blue Élan Records.
Kevin Fisher is a platinum-selling songwriter, with songs recorded by Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, Home Free, Uncle Kracker, Lilly Kristin (Austria), Kasia Nova (Poland), and Dora Danics (Hungary). His songs have been placed in shows such as Criminal Minds, Dear Dumb Diary, Angriest Man In Brooklyn, True Blood, America's Funniest Videos, The Style Channel and more. He's had a #1 song and video on Hot Disc UK and is the International Acoustic Music Awards Grand Prize Winner for 2017. Kevin records independently on the label Stone Poet Music.
Clearly Cindy and Kevin have major talent. I hope you can come to the show to hear them perform. Having heard Cindy many, many times, I know you won't be disappointed.
This is a Sundday evening show while Cindy & Kevin are touring on the East Coast. Please make an effort to come to the show and support them!
